Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
When a name or case number is entered into a search tool, the query is sent to the third-party provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and returns any result under its own service. The private operator does not keep or log the search terms entered through those tools.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If an email is sent to the private operator, the message is retained for a response and handled within the organization. It is not shared outside the organization unless a legal obligation requires disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a browser loads a page, server and analytics systems may receive technical details associated with the visit:
- The IP address assigned to the device
- The browser and its version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring website, when one is supplied
- Timestamps associated with page views
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files stored by a browser. They help measure how visitors use the resource, including traffic patterns and page performance. Browser settings can block cookies, although some functions may then work differently. Analytics services receive aggregated traffic information for the private operator's use.
What We Do With This Data
- Operating, maintaining, and improving page performance
- Sending a submitted search request to the selected partner service
- Assessing which resource pages are used and how they perform
- Diagnosing and correcting technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may be based on interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Hinds County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case-record information. Circuit and County Court records are kept by the Hinds County Circuit Clerk, Chancery records by the Hinds County Chancery Clerk, Justice records by the Justice Court Clerk, and city matters by their municipal custodians. Mississippi Electronic Courts, including PAMEC, is the remote read-only access layer for eligible electronic cases. The private operator is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act and does not assemble visitor data into consumer reports or third-party case files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search boxes are operated by outside providers. Information entered into those tools is governed by the provider's own privacy policy, data-retention practice, and sharing rules. The private operator does not direct or control those practices. Review the provider's policy before submitting information through a third-party search tool.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to clerk offices, Circuit Court or Chancery Court portals, MEC/PAMEC, legal-aid resources, or third-party search services. Following a link leaves this resource and places the visit under the destination's own privacy policy. Review that policy before providing personal information.
Advertising partners may also track activity across websites to serve interest-based advertisements. Any such tracking is performed through their systems rather than by the private operator.
Who Might See Your Data
The private operator does not sell personal data. Information can be disclosed to the limited groups needed to operate the resource or comply with law:
- Search partners that process a query submitted through a tool
- Analytics services used for traffic and performance measurement
- Advertising networks that place advertisements on the pages
- Law-enforcement or government bodies responding to a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used to protect information collected by the private operator. No internet-connected system can guarantee complete security, however, and no assurance can be made that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults. The private operator does not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18. If the operator learns that a minor has provided personal information, the information will be removed as appropriate.
Your Data Rights
For records held by a Mississippi public body, the Mississippi Public Records Act, Miss. Code §§25-61-1, 25-61-5, 25-61-7, and 25-61-13, states the policy of public access, sets inspection and copy procedures, permits reasonable fees, and provides a route for a denial complaint. Judicial case access is also governed by the MEC electronic-access procedures, which limit remote viewing to implemented, non-restricted cases and provide for in-office viewing subject to applicable copy fees. These laws and procedures concern public records and court access; they do not make this private operator the custodian of a court file.
For personal information held by the private operator, a person may ask for a copy, seek correction of inaccurate information, request deletion where appropriate, or ask to opt out of certain processing. The request does not alter, remove, or control any official Hinds County court record held by a clerk or court.
Updates to This Policy
The private operator may revise this policy when its practices change. A revised version will appear here with a new effective date.
